Submissions are now open for filmmakers and producers to submit their short films (5mins or less) to be screened as part of the Frightarama horror all-nighter, taking place at Leicester’s Phoenix cinema on Friday 28 October 2016. Submissions will close on Sat 1 October 2016.

Curated by short film festival The Short Cinema, the Frightarama Horror Shorts programme is a great way for filmmakers to get their work screened to a packed auditorium of eager and appreciative horror fans. Submissions will be accepted from around the world, with local work from the Midlands being especially welcome. Submissions can be serious, funny, gory, found footage, whatever you want, just make them vivid and imaginative.

Ever growing in prominence, previous screenings of Frightarama Horror Shorts have included pieces of dark and twisted animation, gore-tastic schlock horror from teenage filmmakers and a screening of David F. Sandberg’s Lights Out, which has now been made into a feature through New Line Cinema.
