Video has reaches the ripe old age of 40 soon and whilst the format may not have the resolution of a 35mm print or the storage capacity of a blu-ray, it is the format that most of us will have watched our first films on. With their weight, the mechanical whir of a rewinding tape and that orange saturation and patterning, VHS is utterly distinct, tactile and, much as vinyl does, harks back to a nostalgia and appreciation for the more lo-fi days when it was all about the movies.
In celebration of this analogue milestone we ran a video exchange as part of our VH Yes event. We got you to scour through attics, spare rooms, under your bed and on that forgotten shelf at the bottom of your DVD collection and come down and bask in the artwork and nostalgia of the mighty VHS!
