Where it all began!

Whilst some movies demand the auditorium experience, some movies are just plain better with a group of friends and lots of food and drink. The 19^thAugust 2011 saw us present the first of what would become a monthly selection of classic, cult and world cinema with a more social, interactive edge in the Phoenix cafe bar.

And what better way to kick off these screenings than with the Coen Brother’s evergreen, cult classic The Big Lebowski. A packed out room of Lebowski fanatics abided in a specially decorated Phoenix bar where they enjoyed a drink and some food with friends, tested out their bowling skills, won prizes for dressing up as your favourite character in our ‘Best Dressed Dude’ competition, and of course watched the Coen’s masterpiece itself, all washed down with a delicious White Russian or two!
