As a screenwriter, W. D. Richter was involved with some of the most loved cult hits (Big Trouble in Little China, Needful Things, Invasion of the Body Snatchers) but with The Adventures Of Buckaroo Banzai Across The 8th Dimension, he created the cult film par excellence.

Dr Buckaroo Banzai (Peter Weller) is a neurosurgeon, physicist, test pilot and rock musician who, together with his band the Hong Kong Cavaliers, must save Earth from a group of aliens called the Red Lectroids from Planet 10.
