Leicester’s all-night horror marathon Frightarama returned to Phoenix on Friday 27 October 2017 for its seventh year, with five delectable slabs of horror movie deliciousness.

We screened Danny Boyle’s majestic zombie opus 28 Days Later, unsettling southern gothic modern masterpiece The Eyes of My Mother, Mel Brook’s comedy horror gem Young Frankenstein, evergreen 80s classic A Nightmare on Elm Street and, for the first time kept viewers in the dark with a mystery third film that wasn’t revealed until the night itself.

As ever The Short Cinema curated our Frightarama Horror Shorts Competition, and we offered the usual tricks and treats including special food and drink available all night, retro gaming, raffles, and a breakfast cob at dawn.
