‘Every home should have a Marmalade Day. And a bear.’
The Social Cinema couldn’t agree more, which is why we teamed up with Phoenix to present a very special children’s screening of the undeniably wonderful, Paddington for the 2016 Spark Arts Festival.
Featuring a star-studded cast including Sally Hawkins, Nicole Kidman, Hugh Bonneville and Ben Whishaw as the titular bear, Paddington is brimming with warmth and nostalgia and was lapped up by our eager and energetic audience.
We decked out the Phoenix Courtyard Suites in the style of the classic TV series, hosted a craft session and a bear hunt around the building to find the elusive Social Cinema bear, and had a delicious teddy bears picnic. If that wasn’t enough we also had a special storytelling session courtesy of the wonderful Edward Spence and of course there was a screening of everyone’s favourite Peruvian bear in his feature film debut.
Teddy bears were allowed in for free, parents had to ask permission of their children!
